On Monday 21th October another important training event for the preschool staff of the Bassa Reggiana was held in the imposing setting of Palazzo Ducale in Guastalla.
Tiziana Filippini, a pedagogist of Reggio Children and a direct witness of the long experience of Reggio in education, spoke to the public of teachers and educators of the role of documentation with a speech entitled “Making learning visible. Documentation as a tool for listening and inclusion”.
In addition to the educational services staff, a delegation of colleagues from Sweden, Spain and Germany attended the training, more specifically from “Nicolajgarden” and “Egalia” in Stockholm and the District of Harryda, from the “Colegio Internacional Torrequebrada of Benalmadena” of Malaga, and from the “Ina.Kinder.Garten” of Berlin. These schools are partners in the European project From Majority to Everyone, dedicated to the theme of inclusion in school and society, starting from the educational approach in early childhood.
Tiziana Filippini’s speech reiterated the value of documentation to enter the heart of learning processes, understood as relational systems, in which reciprocity, the recognition of value and identity, interdependence are essential for the construction of knowledge. Knowledge that is not formed by accumulation of skills, but that is structured through a reorganization of meanings, through maps that become keys to interpreting reality. Learning, therefore, that especially in early childhood, is formed thanks to the context in which one lives and grows, thus laying the foundations for a complete and harmonious development of individuals.
